Ill say it up here so that is obvious! These are obviously only our/my opinions and so should be treated as such. Games could have changed since we played them or times we have had a poor experience from staff at the venues could have been a rare occurrence, but the whole point of a blog is to review our honest opinion from our experience. Remember, the nature of escape rooms mean that each experience is unique and opinions are subjective.
We rate each of rooms on 4 different areas, each out of 5. They are:
Customer Experience: This is how we felt as customer in the venue, from the welcome to the venue, venue itself, staff that we met during the game and crucially in some cases, our games master.
Theming: How the room was decorated and how immersed we with the theme. The quality of the props and decorations and the overall feel of the room is included in this.
Gameplay: This is what we thought of the variety/difficulty of puzzles, how they linked to the story and generally what the game was like.
Enjoyment: When we leave the room were we raving about certain puzzles, do we keep talking about that day and beyond, did we get that sense of achievement as we made our way through and out of the room.
Finally we give each room an Overall rating. This is also out of 5. Any room rated 2.5 out of 5 or below I would recommend steering clear of. This could be because of a variety of reasons – poor puzzles, disinterested staff, rooms that do not make sense etc. Those rooms rated 3 out of 5 or above are solid games that have no major problems. 4 out of 5 and above are the really good games that should be on your play list if you are looking to complete the decent games in your area. Those rooms rated either 4.5 out of 5 or 5 out of 5 are superb games that should make anyone’s must play list.
